On May 4-6, 2021, Europiren along with the partner Gehring Montgomery Inc participated at the Fire Retardants in Plastics which was targeted at the North-American audience.
This year it was held online due to the existing travel restrictions. Nevertheless, Fire Retardants in Plastics managed to provide a unique opportunity to hear from the industry leading players on their viewpoints about the latest developments and prospects of the fire retardants market.
One of the key topics of the event was advances in additives, compound formulations and applications, which is of a special interest to Europiren and GMI.
Vasily Karpov, Technical Product Manager of Europiren, delivered a speech on EcoPiren®, a natural magnesium hydroxide flame retardant used in polymer compounds (HFFR and PVC). Application of EcoPiren® allows to diminish drawbacks of classic formulations: lack of fire performance, dripping, high smoke emission and toxicity. Incorporating EcoPiren® improves the CPR category of the cable and optimizes the cost of compound. The presentation was followed by a number of questions from the engaged audience. EcoPiren® was also presented at the virtual booth of Europiren and GMI, which is a good alternative to offline exhibitions under the existing circumstances.
The representatives of Europiren managed to build new professional contacts and discuss cooperation with a few potential partners. The networking of the summit (schedule meetings, group conversations, panel discussions, interactive Q&A sessions) was also highly appreciated.
